Running wholesale and retail from the same Shopify store is powerful — but it only works if you can apply different rules to different customers. Wholesale accounts typically need to order in case quantities or hit a minimum order value before you can fulfil profitably. Retail customers have no such restriction.

The Challenge of B2B Quantity Rules on Shopify
Shopify does not differentiate between customer types natively when it comes to purchase quantities. A wholesale customer and a retail customer see the same product page and the same checkout. Any minimum you set applies to everyone or no one — unless you use an app that supports conditional rules.
Setting Wholesale MOQ Using Customer Tags
The cleanest approach: tag your wholesale accounts in Shopify (e.g. ‘wholesale’ or ‘b2b’), then create quantity rules that apply only when that tag is present.
Step 1 — Tag your wholesale customers
In your Shopify admin, open each wholesale customer account and add the tag ‘wholesale’. You can also do this in bulk via a CSV import or automatically with a wholesale account request flow.
Step 2 — Install Fold
